    建国前多数村庄建有寨墙、寨门。寨墙一般髙1.5丈，宽5尺余，上筑炮楼、更房。寨墙外围有寨壕环绕，俨然像座小城堡。
    抗日战争时期，日伪军往往以村塞为依托，步步吞食抗日根据地，为此，郓城抗日军民渐将寨墙废除。建国后，人口增加，村庄面积逐年扩大，许多村庄寨墙遗址已在村内。
