    县城四周，古有护城堤，周长10里，因年久失修，清同治年间已不成体系，1872年（清同治十一年），修复沮河决口（侯家林处），节余银两大宗，遂拨1200两，予以维修加固。但后因屡遭黄泛，维修中断，至民国初年已不存在。
