    巨野境内建村年代：汉朝有5个，宋朝11个，元朝22个，明朝765个，清朝94个，
民国时期4个， 1949年后至1 985年13个，现有村庄无据可查的141个。1990年，全
县共有5个镇、 22个乡、1060个村。村庄规模大者数千人，小者数十人，全县平均
每个村庄650人。
    1949年前，较大村庄多筑有防御寨墙，设有寨门。1949年后，按照统一规划，
修街建路，房院成排。街道一般能通拖拉机、汽车、小巷一般能通人力车。
