    棉花  棉花是单县的主要经济作物。1949年种植14.8万亩，占经济作物面积的74.7％，单产21斤，总产314万斤。1956年种植25.3万亩，占69.3％，单产39斤，总产996万斤。1966年种植20.8万亩，占68.9％，单产59斤，总产1227万斤。1976年种植29.3万亩，占75.7％，单产32斤，总产936万斤。1983年种植54.1万亩，占92％，单产101斤，总产5481万斤。1987年种植32.54万亩，占65.7％，单产128斤，总产4170万斤。
    花生  1949年种植面积1.1万亩，占经济作物面积的5.5％，单产121斤，总产133万斤。1956年种植5.6万亩，占15％，单产235斤，总产1318万斤。1966年种植6.3万亩，占20.8％，单产198斤，总产1247万斤。1976年种植1.5万亩，占3.8％，单产109斤，总产166万斤。1983年种植1.4万亩，占2.4％，单产155斤，总产223万斤。1987年种植12.35万亩，占25％，单产308斤，总产3801万斤。
    芝麻  是单县的传统经济作物，小磨香油的原料，因它产量低而不稳，一直为小面积种植。1949年种植1.7万亩，占经济作物面积的8.5％，单产60斤，总产100万斤；1956年种植3.5万亩，占9.5％，单产80斤，总产281万斤；1966年种植1万亩，占3％，单产54斤，总产56万斤；1976年种植2.5万亩，占6.4％，单产54斤，总产132万斤；1983年种植1.5万亩，占2.5％，单产72斤，总产108斤；1987年种植1.52万亩，占3％，单产124斤，总产190.8万斤。
