    1965年以前，经济检察属侦查的一部分。解放初期，在“三反”、“五反”运动中，在打击贪污盗窃、行贿受贿、偷税、抗税等经济领域里的犯罪分子中，侦查了一批批犯罪分子，起诉到县法院给予判处。
    1979年，单县人民检察院始加强经济检察工作。1980年后，设立经济检察股（科）。1987年，共受理贪污、行贿受贿、假冒商标、投机倒把、偷税抗税、挪用抢险救灾物资经济犯罪案犯173名，立案侦查106名，依法逮捕并提起公诉的71名，免诉和作其他处理的102名，为国家挽回经济损失100余万元。
