    1957年，定陶县设立科学节育工作委员会，负责宣传、指导节育工作。1963年5月设立定陶县计划生育委员会。1970年设立定陶县计划生育领导小组。1972年设立计划生育办公室。1982年12月改计划生育办公室为计划生育局，1984年4月改为计划生育委员会。定陶县为加强计划生育工作的领导，于1987年3月成立定陶县计划生育领导小组，有1名副书记兼组长，副县长、宣传部长、武装部长兼副组长。1988年12月，各乡镇均配有计划生育专职副书记和专职副乡（镇）长各1名。之后，县直机关各单位均配备了计划生育专兼职干部，具体负责计划生育工作。
