    1945年，定陶县设立司法科。1951年11月司法科撤销后，司法行政工作由人民法院兼管。1957年，定陶县设法律顾问处，之后，“反右”运动开始，法律顾问处被撤销。
    1980年12月，定陶县设立司法局，有局长1人，设秘书股、宣传股、民事调解股和法律顾问处。1981年10月，县司法局设公证处。到1990年，司法局下设办公室、宣传股、民事调解股、法律顾问处、公证处，共有司法行政人员35人，辖19处乡镇司法管理所，有干部20人。
