    清末和民国年间，定陶进口的主要物品有布匹、糖、自行车、煤油、纸、烟、火柴等。抗日战争爆发后，日本货物曾一度充斥境内市场。建国后，进口商品由国家统筹安排。1978年后，进口商品增多，主要有化肥、农药、家用电器、汽车、医疗器械、手表等。80年代后，进口物品进一步增多，1990年，全县进口物品总值为40万元。
