    1936年， 全县耕地面积1707533亩，人口687048人，平均每人占有耕地2.49亩。
建国后，在完成土地改革的基础上，于1951年起搞土地丈量和查田定产报“黑地”，
截止到1956年底， 全县核实耕地面积为237.54万亩，比1936年增加了66.79万亩。19
58年， 兴修太行堤水库及其配套工程，共占地71.68万亩，还有可耕地165.86万亩。
此后因水利设施等占压，耕地有所减少。据1982年统计，全县实有耕地为157.15万亩，
农民人均占有耕1.5亩。 1985年底统计， 全县实有耕地157万亩，农民人均占有耕地
1.47亩。
