    菏泽市牡丹区位于山东省西南部，东径115°11′～115°47′，北纬35°02
′～35°28′， 是菏泽市委、市政府驻地。地处黄河下游南岸，华北平原的东南
边缘。北邻鄄城县，东接郓城县、巨野县，南与定陶县、曹县接壤，西与东明县
相连， 西北一隅濒临黄河，与河南省濮阳市隔河相望。东北距省会济南市240公
里，北距鄄城县城37公里，东南距定陶县城22公里，西距东明县城33.5公里。南
北纵距48公里，东西横距55.5公里，总面积1249平方公里。
