    临沭境内佛教、道教分别于隋唐和南宋孝宗年间传入；伊斯兰教于明朝初年由回族穆斯林迁居引入；20世纪二三十年代，基督教、天主教通过教会传入临沭。1986年，全县共有寺庙堂点92处，宗教职业人员13人，信教群众12357人。2007年，全县共有宗教活动场所141处，信教群众33840人。
