    2000年前，临沭县气象台一直使用常规仪器，靠人工观测气象数据，并向社会发布。2000年始，用计算机编发气象电报，用市至县计算机终端调取气象资料。同年，建立气象卫星单向接收系统，气象资料得以更快地从单收站获取。2004年始，建立自动气象站，至2005年，全县先后设立9个区域自动气象站，一般晴雨预报准确率达85%以上，灾害性天气预报准确率达58%。
