    2002年6月，临沭县人民防空办公室（简称县人防办）成立，为正科级事业单位，负责管理全县人民防空工作。2007年7月31日，临沭县机构编制委员会下发沭编〔2007〕17号文件，同意人防办加挂县民防局的牌子。
    2007年4月，根据上级主管部门要求和临沭县人防工作实际，成立临沭县民生人防工程服务中心，主要职责是搞好人防工程维护维修和管理等。县人防办自成立以来，积极做好人防宣传教育工作，推进人防工程建设，工作取得较大发展。
