    临沭自建县起即有工会组织。1986年－2007年，县内共召开两次全县职工代表大会。1987年9月19日，临沭县第五届职工代表大会召开，出席代表250人。会议选举县总工会常务委员7人，朱崇谦任主席，吴绍义、许维梅(女)任副主席。1999年9月8日，全县第六届职工代表大会召开，出席代表216人，列席33人。会议选举县总工会六届委员21人，常务委员9人，吴作恕任主席，王敬顺、王康贤、陈素娟（女）任副主席。
