    1963年11月，县内开始实行计划生育，近30年来取得了一定成绩。1963年，人口出生率为41.34‰，1972年为31.88‰，1989年为12.27‰，但增长仍然过快。1949年至1989年，40年内人口增长387634人，而耕地却减少349818亩，人均占有土地由3.19亩减少到1.29亩。
