    沂南县在大地构造上位于鲁西台背斜鲁中隆断区东南部，属沂泰隆断和马牧池穹断，东跨沂沭断裂带。境内自太古代至新生代地层均有出露。中生代以来构造运动显著，断裂及岩浆活动发育，显示“活化”地台型特征。
