    1953年，县委宣传部配置通讯干事，管理通讯报道工作。临沂《临沂大众》报、费县《上游报》创刊后，费县通讯员队伍开始形成。1959年秋，中共费县县委设立通讯报道组。1965年，县委办公室负责通讯报道工作。1971年县革委政治部设宣传组，配备了专职报道干部。1975年县革委政治部宣传组改为中共费县县委宣传部，通讯报道工作也改由宣传部负责。1980年，全县有专职和业余通讯员40人，有骨干通讯员50人。
