    1955年，中华人民共和国《兵役法》颁行，志愿兵役制改为义务兵役制。县兵役局负责征兵工作。1956年和1957年，县兵役局对全县18～35岁的男性公民和具有专门技术的女性公民，办理兵役登记，颁发《兵役证》。
    1960年以后，征兵工作由县人民武装部负责，每年冬季征兵一次。1961～1964年，夏、冬季各征一次。从1958年开始，在应届初中毕业生中选拔飞行员，1974年后，改为从应届高中毕业生中选拔。1951～1985年，全县共有25380人参军。
