    境内灌溉主要以水库、塘坝灌溉为主，平原地区辅以井灌。建国前只少量水井用以灌溉，没有其他灌溉工程。建国后，党和政府带领人民修水库、筑塘坝、挖山泉、打井、建扬水站，农田灌溉面积不断扩大。50年代发展灌溉面积19.7万亩,60年代有效灌溉面积31.47万亩。70年代后各种灌溉工程全面开发,恢复和改善灌溉条件,至1988年,全县设计灌溉面积64万亩,有效灌溉面积发展到53.2万亩,占总耕地面积的62％。历年最大实灌面积29.4万亩,平均实灌面积18.6万亩。
