    地质构造复杂，地貌类型多样，具有明显的山区特征。山区面积占 85%，平原占15%。全境地势
南北高，中间低，略向东南倾斜。北部蒙山山脉峰峦嵯峨，气势雄伟；南部尼山山脉群峰连绵起伏，
风光旖旎；中部谷地、陆地土质肥沃，田畴如画。有大小山峰 1076个，多呈北西—东南走向。蒙山
主峰龟蒙顶海拔 1155.8米，为沂蒙山区第一高峰、山东省第二高峰，素称“岱宗之亚”。
