    建国初期，本县农作物肥料主要是农家土杂肥为主和少量的豆饼、棉籽饼等。在施肥中有基肥、种肥和追肥3种。1952年，开始推广施用化学肥料，但数量较少。到1965年全县粮田平均亩施标准化肥13公斤，至1975年增加到52.7公斤，1985年亩施碳酸氢氨化肥101.5公斤、过磷酸钙23.5公斤、硫酸钾1.9公斤。蔬菜、果业、林业等也大都以化学肥料为主。由于长期施用无机化学肥料，致使部分地块出现板结、碱化现象。1987年部分农户养殖业有了发展，有机土杂肥有所增加。
