    1933年在民众教育馆中设体育股，有股长1人，负责全县的体育工作。1936年撤销。
    建国前后，体育工作由文教科负责。1956年设立体育运动委员会，由副县长李贵村兼主任，配备1名专职体育干部主持日常工作。1960年3月对体委作了调整。1968年成立体育运动军事接管小组，对体育实施军管，1973年撤销军管组恢复体委。1978、1982年又分别对体委进行调整。1984年12月县体委又作调整，后设立县少年儿童业余体校。1987年县体委共有职工14人，其中主任1人，副主任2人。
