    1946年春，共产党领导下的民主政府在县城成立县学1处。共招收学生200人，分甲、乙、丙、丁4个班。甲乙两班的学员是各区选送的村干部和群众中的积极分子，培养目标是村干部。学员入校时的文化程度：粗识文字者占55％，初、高小程度者占35％，文盲占10％。丙班和丁班是为失学的大龄儿童办的，学生主要来自城郊区，以学文化为主，开设国语、算术、常识、音乐、体育、美术课。县学只办了1年，1947年春因国民党军进攻而停办。
