    建国后，国家对面积较大的荒山和较集中的林区建立了国营林场。从1950～1960年，先后建立了中山寺林场、天麻林场、岱崮林场，1952年建立了蒙阴县苗圃。至1987年总经营面积7.14万亩，其中，林地面积5.12万亩；苗地面积165亩；荒山面积近10万亩；从业人员198人。国营场圃是林业生产的骨干，成为全县林业科技、生产的基地。
