    1941年1月，莒南县抗日民主政府设民政科。1942年各区配民政助理员。1956年11月
民政科改称民政局。1968年至1970年民政工作由县革命委员会内务组管理。1971年恢
复民政局，全县16处人民公社各设民政助理1人。1984年，全县25处乡(镇)均设民政
助理1人，村设民政委员会。1992年6月各乡(镇)设民政所。1993年底，民政局下设社
会股、民政股、政权股、优抚股、信访股、地名办公室、社团科、退伍军人安置办公
室、双拥办公室、农村养老保险事业管理处、县殡仪馆、坪上殡仪馆、社会福利公司
、烈士陵园管理所。
