    1954年下半年开始实行监所检察工作。从1957年开始每季度对看守所检察1次。1963年后每月检察1次，至“文革”开始，共检察59次。1980年8月后配合看守所及时发现、排除的重大隐患4起，打击1起2人犯罪活动。截至1996年底共采取上大课等方式，对在押人犯进行教育388次，个别提审教育1962人次，纠正执法人员违法行为142人次。
