    郯城县各级各类档案室是郯城档案事业的基础组织，其保存的档案是郯城县档案馆馆藏档案的基本来源。截至1999年底，各级各类档案室共有168个（其中县直机关档案室108个，乡镇机关档案室22个，企业档案室38个），保存档案达6万卷。郯城县企业档案室始建于1963年，郯城县农村档案工作的开展始于1961年冬，1990年郯城县档案局发出通知，要求抢救村级档案，至1999年底，全县有467个行政村建档。
