    1949年，全县耕地140.61万亩，人均占有7.9亩。建国后，农民开垦荒地，经过3年经济恢复时期，至1952年，耕地142.155万亩，增加1.545万亩。1957年，耕地138.26万亩。以后，因兴修水利、植树造林、基本建设，至1965年，全县耕地125.636万亩，人均占有2.8亩。“文化大革命”时期，人口和土地使用失控，到1980年，耕地减少为117.80万亩。1987年，又减少至113.34万亩，人均占有1.88亩。1987年比1949年减少耕地27.27万亩，平均每年减少0.72万亩，人均减少2.42亩。
