    1957年1月，设立冠县气象站，后改称冠县气候站；1960年7月改称冠县气候服务站；1966年1月改称冠县气象服务站；1973年8月称气象站；1976年4月称冠县气象局。
    历年来气象机构隶属关系变动情况：1957年1月～1958年8月，属山东省气象局领导；1958年8月～1964年7月，属县政府建制，农业部门代管；1964年7月～1970年7月，属山东省气象局管理；1970年7月～1973年8月，属县武装部管理；1973年8月～1980年7月，属县委管理；1980年7月～1987年底，属山东省气象局管理。其业务、财务、人事属省、地气象局管理，党团组织工作及行政等，属县委和县政府管理。其中心任务是气象服务工作。
