    种植业在东阿农业生产中占主导地位。建国后，种植业产值占农业总产值年均85.6%，1980年高达89.9%，1984年为87.8%，比全省（占65.8%）高22%。全县种植面积占总耕地面积94.7%，主要种植作物为粮棉。是年，全县交售商品粮5566万公斤，商品棉28.34万担，油料44.39万公斤，为畜牧业和水产业提供秸杆、叶蔓、糠及棉籽皮等粗饲料2.25亿公斤，精饲料1.04亿公斤，其中麦麸皮0.13亿公斤，玉米0.46亿公斤，其他粮食、饼类等0.45亿公斤。
