    1965年前，城区植树无统一规划，多由沿街单位自栽自管。1966年春，在府前街植榕花树和泡桐树；商业街中段、工业街西段、茌东路均植泡桐树。1976年青年路植青杨树。1984年，府前街和商业街树木更新，次年府前街两侧植国槐，株距6～8米。
    树苗由城建部门统一购置，费用从城建费中开支。栽种由城建科定点，各单位栽植管理。
