    全县共有12个民族，1985年底，总人口484200人。其中汉族483159人，占99.8%；回族1004人；满族7人；布依族6人；彝族5人；壮族3.人；白族5人；水族2人；维吾尔族2人；蒙古族3人；朝鲜族1人；苗族3人。少数民族占总人口的0.2%
    回族多系明末从济南、聊城和冠县迁来，大部居住在茌平镇南关、乐平铺镇南街和洪官屯乡的回民李村。其他少数民族多系工作调动、结婚和内迁来的，分别散居茌平、洪官屯等10多个乡镇。
