    晚清，县衙设吏、户、礼、兵、刑、工六房，由户房兼理民政事务。民国初，县公署设四科一处，第一科管理民政。1940年县抗日民主政府成立，设民政科。1958年9月，民政科改称民政局。1985年，县民政局设办公室、退伍军人安置办公室、殡葬改革办公室、秘书股、优抚股、社会股，干部职工16人。另外，军队离退休干部休养所、火化厂和烈士陵园也由民政局管理。
