    建国前，工人（师傅、学徒等）吃、穿、住、用无保障。1942年，雇工工资年人均100公斤小米。1949年，全民所有制职工1917人，1957年7279人，1965年15452人（含集体所有制职工，下同），1987年26707人。1978年，人均485元，较1949年增加273元，提高128.7%。1987年，职工人均年工资近千元。1978年后，恢复奖金、津贴制度。1987年，全县实发奖金213.2万元、津贴298万元，占当年职工工资总额的19.1%。同时，机关、企事业单位普遍实行公费医疗制度。1987年，城镇职工居住面积人均15平方米，较1978增加4.5平方米；职工年人均消费品零售总额663元，是1978年的1.92倍，较1970年净增426元。
