    913年（后梁乾化三年）  梁将刘　率军驻扎莘县，晋军追逐城下，晋王营于莘西。两军隔30里相望，一日数战。次年，　败南逃，晋王留李存审守莘县。
    923年（后唐同光元年）  庄宗李存勖引兵屯朝城。
    945年（后晋开运二年）  七月，黄河决口于杨柳，水宽40里，自朝城北流入莘境。
