    建国后渔业作为一项副业，由农业或水利部门管理。
    1959年，政府设水产科，专门从事水产业务。1962年改为水产业务推广站，隶属水利局。1963年归属农业局。1987年设立水产局，下设渔业办公室、技术推广站、渔业管理科、供销公司。技术推广站，除负责技术推广外，还负责宣传，实施《渔业法》。此外负责渔具供应。
