    民国时期，宁津县私营兴华医院，备有小型的手术设备。乡村行医者因多系中医，且外科甚少，其设备非常简陋。
    五十年代初，宁津人民医院有了简易手术设备和检验设备。1961年，天津市为县人民医院配备两台X光机（一台200毫安，一台50毫安）。1974年，县人民医院购置了一台心电图机。八十年代以来，县医院和乡（镇）卫生院陆续购置了各科诊断、检验仪器。
