    1950年举办了“保本保值”储蓄，是针对当时物价不稳保障储户利益举办的，深受群众欢迎。
    1952年，经济好转，物价趋于稳定，物价折实改为货币储蓄。种类有：活期、定期、定额和有奖4种储蓄。
    1953年，国家实行粮食统购统销，举办了“爱国售粮”储蓄，以定期短、利率高、定额方便，鼓励农民积极售粮储蓄。
    1957年，举办整存整取有奖储蓄，储蓄存款发展很快。到1960年受“极左”思想影响，停办，直到1980年又恢复有奖储蓄。
    1978年后，储蓄种类有：活期储蓄、整存整取定期储蓄、零存整取定期储蓄、有奖定期储蓄和华侨定期储蓄5种。
