    1972年以前，工厂生产用电靠自备发电解决。电网供电以来，首先由宁津城北变电站引线架设10千伏线路19.4公里，供化肥厂、机械厂、五金厂、农具厂、针织厂、拖修厂、城关油棉厂7家工厂用电。1983年县城23家工厂全部改由电网供电。随着电力工业的发展，工业门类和生产厂家发展迅速， 1987年接受供电厂家为245个。计安装配电设备22050千伏安。装机容量为17640千瓦，用电负荷9500千瓦，工业单位千元产值耗电量为1500度。化肥工业用电占工业用电总量的73%。
