    1982年第三次人口普查。全县有小学以上文化程度236791人，占总人口的55.67%，其中：大学734人，高中18860人，初中63455人，小学154639人。同1964年第二次人口普查相比，大学文化程度的增加272人，高中文化程度的增加17040人，初中文化程度的增加57499人，小学文化程度的增加127217人。是年，全县不识字和初识字者（6周岁以上）为135551人，占总人口的31.7%，比1964年第二次普查时的55.50%降了23.80%。
