    1964年第二次人口普查，全县有汉族302063人，占总人口的97.67%，有少数民族6个，7210人，占总人口的2.33%，其中，回族7203人，朝鲜族2人，满族2人，蒙古族1人，僮族1人，白族1人，另有外国人加入中国籍的2人。
    1982年第三次人口普查，全县少数民族增加到8个，10188人，占全县总人口的2.38%，其中，朝鲜族3人，满族14人，蒙古族7人，藏族1人，壮族2人，瑶族4人，土家族5人，回族10148人。回族人口比1964年增长了41.3%。
