    1652年（清顺治九年）增刻《临邑县志》记载：“临邑旧籍洪武中所置里甲，多元末土著，永乐间诏徙直隶山西等处民占籍临邑，分隶各图里社。”
    1943年（民国32年），临邑大旱，人口大量外流，多落居于辽宁、吉林、黑龙江三省。
    1958年，济阳、临邑合县，划入人口35万，1961年，济阳、临邑分县，划出人口20余万。是年，组织迁往临沂苍山地区1万余人。
    1959年至1961年三年生活困难时期，流入东北三省约2万余人。此后，迁出迁入人口相抵，机械变动不大。
