    临邑县体育运动委员会（简称体委）始建于1950年，与县文教科合署办公。1956年，体委单设，副县长兼主任，工作人员1人。1968年县体委实行军队接管，1972年撤消军队接管。1984年以前，体委主任均由县长，或副县长、或政治部主任兼任，设专职副主任主持工作。自1984年以后，体委主任不再由县领导人兼任。1985年体委设主任1名，副主任2人，干事3名，计有专职人员6人。
