    从1984年开始，国家实行自学考试制度，本县设立自学考试办公室，每年开考两次。当年，临邑县高等自学考试共开考23个专业，报考者150人，单科应试及格者73人。1985年，报高考者75人，单科应试及格者33人。
    自学考试是国家级学历考试，正在发展壮大。临邑县中师自学考试和电视自学考试1985年筹备开设。
