    1903年（清光绪二十九年），本县执行清政府颁布的“癸卯”学制，初等小学五年，高等小学四年。1912年（民国元年），改为“四、三制”。即初小四年，高小三年。1922年（民国11年）冬季实行“四、二分段制”，即初小四年，高小二年，一直沿用到1962年前后。同年秋，县在部分学校试行教育部颁发的新学制，即五年一贯制。1963年，因师资和教学条件不具备，停止试行，仍沿用“四、二制”。1968年秋，又改为“五年一贯制”，至1980年，实行“四、二分段制”。
