    临邑县地处黄河下游冲击平原，地势低洼，易于发展水产业。
    建国前，政府无人问津，群众自发生产，收获寥寥无几。解放后至60年代，领导重视，该项生产开始起步，但经济效益不高。自1978年，各项政策进一步落实，生产面貌焕然一新。是年，藕、苇种植面积7500亩，总产302.25万公斤，产值191.6万元。1983年鱼类产量305.5吨，收入53.6万元。
