    齐河县历史上以种植粮食作物为主，建国初，粮田面积占耕地面积的90.4％，1977年占70％以上。其次为棉花、花生、蔬菜、麻类，另有土烟、药材等。1981年调整作物种植结构，棉花面积由1979年前占耕地的10％以下，一跃达到22.9％，1984年增至42.7％，次于小麦，居第二位，1985年全县农作物计60种，351个品种，分属18科、50属。
