    建国前，武城县仅有3个篮球场及少量体育器材。中华人民共和国成立后，县人民政府采取一系列措施，投资修建体育设施。至1985年，全县有400米、300米、250米不等的田径场地28个；篮球场地198个，其中灯光球场3个；乒乓球室121间，乒乓球台325副。
