    从1984年开始，国家实行自学考试制度，每年报考两次。夏津县首次报考127人， 1987年下半年报名者达221人，561科。4年来已有10人获得高等自学考试毕业证书；123人获得376张单科合格证书。1986年中师自学考试首次开考，全县有133名教师报名应试，有125人获得毕业证书。1987年下半年报名339人，982科次。
