    1981年4月以前，司法行政工作由县人民法院兼理。1980年11月筹建夏津县司法局和夏津县公证处、夏津县法律顾问处。1981年4月开始办公。共计配备干部11人。此后人员陆续增多；1984年机构改革，全局定编22人（含公证处、法律顾问处人员各4人）。同时各乡镇配备司法助理1人。
